About Us
Welcome to Hephatha Lutheran School
Builders of Faith, Open to All
And looking up to heaven, He sighed and said to him, “Hephatha,” that is, “Be opened.” – Mark 7:34
Hephatha Lutheran School is a private Christian school that was established with a vision to minister and educate the young people in a new, booming community. The Early Childhood Education program was founded in 1977, and K-8th followed in 1983. Through the years, the school has grown and become an environment that the faculty members, church members, and attending families feel blessed to call home. Hephatha is fully-accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and National Lutheran School Accreditation, and serves Early Childhood and K-8th.
Our Mission
The mission of Hephatha Lutheran School is, by the grace of God, to build up the family of Christ, to grow in faith, to assist families in discipling their children in a Christian Community, and to provide an enriched educational experience wherein all will find identity, purpose, and power for their lives in Christ by living in grace and in the knowledge of Him as their personal Lord and Savior.
Alumni
A large percentage of Hephatha’s graduates attend Lutheran High School of Orange County or Crean Lutheran High School. After high school, our graduates have attended various institutions for higher education such as Concordia, Notre Dame, Princeton, Swarthmore, Chapman, USC, UCLA…just to name a few. Hephatha uses the MAP test platform, offered through NWEA. This platform allows for real time results on student assessments three times a year in the subject areas of Math, Language Arts, and Reading. Assessment results are then translated into instruction in the classroom to support academic growth.
