Athletics
Roadrunner Athletics!
Athletics are an integral part of Hephatha’s program.
As a Lutheran school, we desire to teach and encourage Christian conduct and sportsmanship among our student-athletes. In addition, our goal is to encourage participation, while allotting sufficient supervision, practice, and playing time for the members of the squad.
We arrange our before, during, and after school schedules to ensure students have the space to participate in simultaneous extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. During their time at Hephatha, students have the opportunity discover who they are and what drives them, so that they have a healthy focus when they graduate! Involvement in Athletics, Music, Academies and Fine Arts are great opportunities for our students do just that.
The athletic program is designated to promote healthy participation in sports for boys and girls in grades 5th through 8th. Hephatha is one of 14 schools in the Lutheran Orange County Athletic League (LOCAL). Sportsmanship is expected from all involved, and should always reflect a Christian lifestyle. Hephatha believes that all parents, coaches, and teachers have the responsibility to develop these characteristics in each and every student-athlete.
We have a full athletic field and basketball court on our campus, and offer the following athletic programs:
5th – 8th
FALL:
Girl’s Volleyball
Boy’s Flag Football
WINTER:
Boy’s and Girl’s Basketball
3rd – 8th grades
SPRING:

Hephatha students begin Physical Education (P.E.) in Kindergarten, participate in the Presidential Physical Fitness Program, and have the opportunity to earn physical fitness awards. In addition, our Kindergarten through 4th grade students participate in Hephatha’s annual “Mini Olympics”.
