K – 8th Grade

“Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he grows older he will not abandon it.”

– Proverbs 22:6

At Hephatha, our TK–8th Grade program is built on the belief that every child deserves an education that challenges, inspires, and affirms their God-given potential.

If you have any questions or concerns, contact the Admissions Director, Mrs. Deena Knudsen, at 714.637.0887, ext. 126 or dknudsen@hephatha.net Monday through Friday, 8am–4pm.

Transitional Kindergarten or Kindergarten?

Whether you are struggling to make a decision between Transitional Kindergarten vs Kindergarten, or public school vs. private school, Hephatha does our best to provide you with opportunities where you can hear facts that are based on educated information, faith, and family! In addition, Hephatha partners with parents to help determine your child’s developmental trajectory by assessing Early Childhood students in October, and again in January. A solid parent-teacher partnership is key in deciphering the conundrum that comes with summer and fall birthdays, and knowing if your child is ready for Kindergarten!

Each year, we offer two event opportunities for families: “Kindergarten Preview Night” for Kindergarten, and “Early Childhood’s Open House Ice and Cream Social” for Transitional Kindergarten. These are great opportunities to visit both programs. Finally, families are welcome to schedule an assessment with our Resource Specialist to give your family yet another layer of information with which to make your decision.

1st – 8th Grade

Throughout each grade, our curriculum ensures that instruction is age-appropriate and purposeful. With a cap of 25 students per class, dedicated aides in K–3rd, a full-time Resource Specialist, and 1:1 learning opportunities, every student receives the individual attention they need to succeed. Our teachers are committed to knowing each child and meeting them where they are.

LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

Our classrooms are equipped with Smartboard technology, LED lighting, and flexible seating to support dynamic, modern learning.

Beyond the classroom, students have access to a state-of-the-art STEAM Lab where Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math come alive alongside Theology, woven intentionally into every subject.

A rigorous curriculum enriched with Music and Electives ensures that our students graduate not just academically prepared, but fully rounded and ready for the next step of their education.
